Nancy O'Dell's initial work in the industry of broadcast was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. Her reporting of the ineffective police response to DUI cases in Charleston led to an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell won an award for the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell was then employed by the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of weekend co-anchor. O'Dell's current role as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-shows and arrivals shows for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. In addition, she hosted the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
