Julie Chen Moonves will host the summer hit reality series Big Brother. The show will return to CBS on 5 August for the 2nd season. Chen Moonves has been a part of The Talk since 2010, in which she served as both moderator as well as host. However, her true passion came the time she brought writer into her duties, and was awarded an Emmy for her work. Then she won a second Emmy for hosting an excellent entertainment talk show. The Talk is a show that examines current events through five female hosts. Chen Moonves co-hosted CBS Newsthe weekday morning show The Early Show in 2002 in 2010 and then became the host of the talk show. Prior to this, Chen Moonves was the CBS Morning News' anchor, and also anchor of the news segment on The Early Show. She was dispatched to Cairo after 9/11 and conducted an intense and thrilling discussion with the father who was the primary terrorist who took over the world. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers such as former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, queen Rania of Jordan, the former defense secretary William Cohen, and celebrities including Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves is also a CBS Sunday Morning reporter, who has profiled stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis. Before The Early Show she was a reporter with WDTN TV Dayton which was based in Dayton in Dayton, Ohio (1995-1997). Previous jobs included working as a reporter with ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliate news channel (1992-1995) as well as a desk assistant for the ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991), all while she was finishing her final year in college from the University of Southern California. In her desk-assistant role to ABC News late night broadcast Nightline, she worked with Ted Koppel. He remains among her top journalists. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel to produce the Columbia du-Pont-winning program Anatomy of a Riot which was a look at the Los Angeles riots of '92.
